A Message from Marianne Krasny mek2@cornell.edu (mother of Bjorn Whitmore, who played soccer with Chris)

Dear Friends wanting to help Chris Bordoni’s family,

As you have probably heard, Chris Bordoni from Ithaca, who played TC United and IHS soccer, was critically injured in Afghanistan on January 18 this year. He is currently at a hospital in Texas, where he is expected to remain for two years. See newspaper report http://www.cnycentral.com/news/story.aspx?id=710871 and attached file.

If you would like to help support Chris and his family, please consider one of the options highlighted below. More details on attached flyer.

1. February 25 at The Rink in Lansing. Connie Bart Kintner has gotten permission for us to have a table with a locked box for donations for Chris’ family from 8am-10pm on Saturday 2/25. There should be soccer players and families coming in and out all day. Please sign up for a 2-hr shift using the link I will send your shortly (from Google.docs). If you have a problem with the link, pls email me directly about a time and I will slot you in.

2. February 25, Eagles Dinner. There is also a fundraising dinner for Chris’ family, scheduled for 5-8 at the Eagles Club, 161 Cecil A Malone Dr (behind Wegmans). The person organizing this is Tama Budinger. She needs help cooking, serving, doing dishes. Pls contact Tama at tammybud@aol.com to offer to help with the Eagles dinner.

3. If you have other ideas for fundraisers or other ways you are able to help, pls let Connie and me know. Maybe you can think of some extra ways we can raise funds at The Rink by adding things to our table.

4. Attached is a brochure for the two fundraisers and in general for making contributions. Pls share broadly via email to your networks. Also pls print out and post at various locations.
